Love it! We are paving a new path with Medallion FM. We launched an artist led music service late last year. Artists own the data, all the royalty payouts are based on user centric behavior (e.g. if you listen to 80% of The National, they get 80% of your subscription $). Fans see where all their money is going on a daily basis. $4.99 a month - 85% goes to musicians and rights holders). No AI, No Playlists.

Spotify is the Devil and truly wretched for musicians. Personally, I've never stopped collecting records and CDs. I do use iTunes to sometimes create playlists for my iPod, but every piece of music I own is physical (or, on the rare occasion I download a track from iTunes, immediately burned to a disk).
